Description
The assessment includes ten critical areas:
- Number Sense – Deepening understanding of numbers, including counting, reading, and writing numbers up to 100 or more.
- Addition and Subtraction – Basic operations with single-digit and two-digit numbers, and introduction to problem-solving with these operations.
- Introduction to Multiplication – Understanding the concept of multiplication as repeated addition, using arrays and groups.
- Measurement – Using standard and non-standard units to measure objects, including length, weight, and capacity.
- Geometry – Identifying and describing shapes, understanding basic properties of two-dimensional shapes.
- Time – Reading clocks and understanding the concept of time, including hours, half-hours, and quarters.
- Money – Recognizing and counting money, understanding the value of different coins and bills.
- Data and Graphing – Collecting simple data and representing it using pictographs and bar graphs.
- Patterns – Recognizing and creating patterns, understanding sequences and their rules.
- Problem Solving and Reasoning – Applying math skills to solve practical problems and developing reasoning skills to explain the processes used.
